Support for Tropical Initiatives in Poverty Alleviation (STIPA) is a national non-governmental, non-profit making organization constituted and registered under section 10 of the NGO Co-ordination Act of Kenya on 25th September 1997 (registration number is OP.218/051/975/809). It has a consultancy wing registered under section 14 of the Companies Act Cap 499 on 13th April 2012 (registration number is BN/2012/164045).

The head office is based in Kisumu City since September 1997 with a satellite office based in Transmara in Narok County since January 2013.

The overall ambition of STIPA is to enable organizations and communities to be in control of their lives. This is being achieved through three main pillars namely capacity building, advocacy and community development initiatives. STIPA’s interventions are guided by the principles of PICD that promotes attitude change to address the social challenges.
